Great River Machine Works is, at its heart, a machine shop. What we do best is cut metal (or plastic, or wood) and make stuff. We offer both CNC mill work and conventional lathe parts. We also offer overflow machining services for other machine shops or manufacturers. Our principal machinist went to Dunwoody College to learn machining technology, graduating with honors. Dunwoody is a premier technical school in the Midwest, with over 100 years of training top-rate machinists. Since then, he has worked in a variety of shops, both in Minnesota and California, always with an eye towards learning new skills.
Our workhorse is a Fadal 4020VMC. It is a solid, accurate machine, which gives us the ability to make parts both accurate and precise.
Currently, Great River Machine Works only offers conventional lathe services. We have a Hardinge HLV lathe, which allows us to make small turned parts with precision. We can turn parts up to 6 inches in diameter.
We would love your worst jobs! Here at Great River, we know that it is difficult to find good machinists. In this economy, many shops are also hesitant to add people or equipment.
